How does Social Security work when a spouse dies?

When a Social Security beneficiary dies, his or her surviving spouse is eligible for survivor benefits. A surviving spouse can collect 100 percent of the late spouse’s benefit if the survivor has reached full retirement age, but the amount will be lower if the deceased spouse claimed benefits before he or she reached full retirement age…..Watch Here

Client Service & Administrative Assistant
Molly joined Taylor Financial Group, LLC in June 2021, and works as a Client Services and Administrative Assistant. Molly is a recent graduate from the University of Oklahoma, where she obtained her Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and Healthcare Business and a minor in Dance History. Prior to joining the TFG team, Molly interned with Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art as their marketing and public relations intern, as well as interned with The Performing Arts Project as their marketing and administrative intern.
Molly lives in Ringwood, NJ, with her parents and three brothers. In her personal time, she enjoys dancing, choreographing, and teaching at dance studios in the area, as well as rooting for her Oklahoma Sooners sports teams.
